Vicky and Leo are a couple from Russia and Finland, but they chose Turkey for their wedding destination. More precisely, they picked Kalkan, as it is one of Turkey’s hidden paradises. With stunning scenery and a warm climate, this magical place is becoming a popular romantic destination for gorgeous Mediterranean weddings. As a Kalkan wedding photographer, I was very excited when Vicky and Leo informed me of their plans to host a marriage at a private villa. This breathtaking accommodation, where the pair chose to hold their special day, has an amazing view of the crystal clear waters surrounding the town.
I also enjoyed learning all about their incredible love story. They initially met and fell in love in Rome. Leo is a pilot, but they both love travelling and have friends worldwide. When it comes to their celebration, their Mediterranean wedding was multinational, and guests arrived from different places. It was an ideal location that provided a perfect sense of intimacy. As a Turkey wedding photographer, I absolutely love this destination. It gave a feeling as if you were detached from the whole world but could still enjoy the beauty of the town.
I begin the day by getting ready shots of the bride and groom in their suites. I photographed Vicky and her bridesmaids before capturing the groom. The best part? The bride’s makeup and hair styling were done by her friends, which they did marvellously. Not to mention, Vicky and Leo are both tall and handsome, and they literally look like models. However, after the bridal getting-ready moment, Vicky looked just like a true diva. She wore a gorgeous off-shoulder gown with a long slit.
Shortly after the getting-ready photos, we made our way to the ceremony. The event was close to the sea, as the villa had private access. All guests were asked to walk down towards the ceremony spot. While the guests waited patiently, Leo was excited and keen, desperately looking for his bride. Then, Vicky walked down with her mother to the gathering place and joined her husband.
The celebrant for their beautiful wedding was one of their friends, and the wedding rings were presented in matryoshka dolls. It is a traditional representation of a mother carrying a child within her because it describes a mother carrying a family legacy. As the pair exchanged vows, everyone present showered them with blessings and love. The set up was gorgeous, with an iconic backdrop of the sea. Afterward, we continued to play games. After that, we sneaked away from the celebration to capture some intimate and stunning portraits.
After capturing breathtaking shots of Vicky and Leo by the sea and in the garden overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, we proceeded to the reception. Also, this magnificent villa had spectacular arrangements when it came to the decor. As Leo is a pilot, the wedding seating chart letter was designed just like a boarding pass. I was surprised by how nicely these details were incorporated into the celebrations.
The event was followed by the emotional speeches given by their family members. Moreover, the most awaited moment came when Leo & Vicky had their first dance as a married couple. As their Kalkan wedding photographer, I took this opportunity to capture some of the timeless pictures of the newlyweds. One of the special highlights of the evening was Leo’s surprise to the bride and guests- he played an incredible saxophone. It was so amazing. However, the party did not end there; the couple jumped into the pool and had the best times of their life. They were truly having fun, and shortly, all of their guests jumped into the pool, making it more happening than ever.
Vicky & Leo, congratulations once again. As your Kalkan wedding photographer, I am honoured to have been part of your new beginnings. Wishing you a lot of love and happiness.
