As a Kalkan wedding photographer, I have always enjoyed photoshoots in this place. It is a spot with so much to offer, especially for bridal photo sessions. This time, the couple at the centre of attention was the lovely Katie and Amar who are absolutely perfect for each other!
Kalkan is a stunning Mediterranean town with beautiful beaches, charming streets, and, of course, breathtaking sea views. With that said, it is not strange that so many destination weddings happen there! Katie and Amar loved it so much that they decided their celebration would last two days instead of one!
Day 1: The Indian Wedding Celebration
If you know about Indian culture, you are aware that this nation comes with a lot of hues in its heritage. The first day was a colourful explosion of Indian traditions and celebrations. Guests arrived from all over the globe and sparkled in their vibrant traditional attire. It truly was a joyful celebration! Everyone was in high spirits while laughter and music filled the air.
Amar got himself all dressed up in his family’s traditional style and looked sharp, while Katie was radiant in a stunning Indian dress. They each got ready in their own rooms, soaking in the excitement of the day of their Indian wedding in Turkey!
Their DJ, a talented Indian/British artist, was flown in from the UK, and he kept the music flowing with an amazing mix of Indian and British songs. The energy was infectious, and it felt like a huge family reunion celebrating love. As their Kalkan wedding photographer, I enjoyed capturing these sincere and authentic moments.
Day 2: A British Wedding by the Sea
Day two was a dream! All of us enjoyed a beautiful British wedding by the sea, surrounded by lovely olive trees. It really felt like magic! The gentle sound of the waves created such a calming vibe as everyone came together to see Katie and Amar exchange their vows.
Moreover, the decor was classy and elegant, perfectly complementing the stunning surroundings. To top it all off, fireworks were lighting up the evening sky – a spectacular finale that left us all in awe! As a Turkey wedding photographer, this was an authentic experience for me as well!
Their friend officiated the wedding, which really personalised the ceremony and made it even more memorable. And Katie? She looked stunning! Amar complemented her perfectly with his charming style!
Watching two cultures blend in such a loving way reminded me of the beauty of unity and love. I enjoyed every moment while capturing this love story in a lifelong memory! It was a great honour being their Kalkan wedding photographer!
